2

In order to progress in the league you must race.

3 Each week, you may race twice at most.
4

Each week, you may race the scullers immediately above and below you, BUT - YOU MAY NOT RACE THE SAME SCULLER MORE THAN ONCE IN 5 RACES, so if you have raced the adjacent scullers, you can challenge the nearest sculler that you have not raced recently. You can also take this action if your challenges are refused, in order to avoid being defaulted (see 5, below).

You cannot refuse a legitimate challenge simply in order to avoid racing the challenger. If you are able to race, you must accept a legitimate challenge.

5 If you do not race at all in a full week, you will be defaulted 1 point.
If you are defaulted in successive weeks, the penalty will be incremented; e.g. 1, then 2, then 3 points (etc.) are subtracted each successive week you do not race.
6 You receive 3 points for a win, 1 point for a loss.
7

The week runs from Saturday to Friday.
The first day of racing will be Saturday 10 April.
The last day of racing will be Saturday 5 June, when a prize will be presented to each of the highest placed male and female scullers.

8 Each week, the league table will be updated with the results of the previous week's races and put on the web site, so that you can see who's leading and who you can challenge next.
9 By default, the course will be over 250 m. from the Polmadie foot bridge.
If both scullers agree, the race can optionally be :
over 500m from the top of the Polmadie straight, or
a long course from the Fours Head at Dalmarnock.

All races finish at the GRC boathouse.

10 All races should, whenever possible, have a starter/aligner to start the race. All races MUST have a finish judge, who must be a committee member or one of the club's SARA umpires. Races will be run under SARA rules.
