How to use the 'Google news groups'

This page is to help those of you who have trouble understanding the GRC Message Board/Mailing list. If you follow these steps you should be able to access the group.  Once you're in, I hope the simplicity of it will win you over!

1. QUICK SIGN IN AND SET UP ACCOUNT. 
   This is for anyone who does not already have a Google Account.
   • Click on this link 
     then.... 
   • Fill in everything on the page that appears - use your normal email address and a password of your choice (only you will know the password - not me or any other person) 
   • ......and finally the 'Word verification' that involves copying the misshapen letters that appear on the screen. 
     
2. NOW TRY AND GO TO THE GRC 'FORUM' on Google Groups
   • Clicking on this link will take you straight there.  
     
3. IF YOU STILL AREN'T IN - JOIN THE GROUP
   • To join the group, click here. 
     
4. ABOUT - RECEIVING MESSAGES 
   Every email sent to the group is also sent to every member by default, regardless of whether they have yet accessed the group on-line. 
   Each individual can choose how they receive future notifications by clicking on the "Unsubscribe or change membership" link which is located on the main page just below the "Search" button and next to the "Start a new topic" link. 
   
5. ABOUT - SENDING MESSAGES 
   You can send messages in different ways:
   while you are using the group (the web version), you can
   • "Start a new topic" or 
   • "reply" to a message  
   OR you can simply send an email to GRCmembers@googlegroups.com.
