Last year we were forced to cancel the regatta because although there was a reasonable number of entries, these were spread across too many events to make the regatta viable. More than half of the entrants would have been in two-boat events.

In order to ensure that the situation doesn't repeat this year, we will offer a reduced number of events. To encourage competitors further, we will be offering a 'plate' event for the crews eliminated in the first round of each event, so that every crew is guaranteed two races at least in the event. As in previous years, events with three entrants will be run in a 'round-robin' format, also giving each crew two races, win or lose.
