Fours Head Of The River 2009

RESCHEDULED - Saturday, 5th December.

"Small, but perfectly formed."

The 2009 race was run over 4000 metres rather than the traditional 5 kilometre course. Fastest crew of the day was the home Glasgow Rowing Club crew, winning men's Open Quads. In the same division, the fastest women's crew was Clydesdale's Women's Open coxed four who were only 5 seconds behind the time their male clubmates set in the later race.

There was the tiniest scare when we had some heavy rain towards the end of the week, and the decision was made to shorten the course, as the marshalling zone at the top of Belvidere straight was too turbulent.

In the event we had two well-populated divisions (more crews than last year notwithstanding this being the re-set date) of good quality racing across a wide range of categories.

but still looked like winners every way up.
