As promised, we met today and assessed the conditions.

We have decided to CANCEL the race.

Were today's conditions to prevail until Saturday, it would not be possible to safely run the race. With the current weather forecast suggesting lots more rain in the interim, the decision was made to cancel.

With 3 days to go, we may be proved wrong and conditions may be rowable by Saturday, but we felt it was important to make an early decision.

Glasgow Rowing Club would like to thank everyone who entered either race, as well as the umpires who offered their services. We're sorry that it couldn't go ahead this year but we'll try again in a year's time.

We do not intend to apply for another rescheduled date in the new year - our next event is the Small Boats Head on April 7.
