In emergencies, the emergency services should be contacted immediately by telephone (Tel. 999).

 

Umpires will be situated on the banks and bridges the length of the course.  The position of all umpires is marked by the letter “U” on the attached map of the River Clyde. 

 

Umpires noted with the letters “UR” will also be equipped with a radio and will be in contact with the Senior Umpire, Regatta Control and the Safety launches.  The Senior Umpire will have a “roving role” along the course of the race.

 

Safety Launches:  A motorised safety launch will follow the last boat down the course in each race.  Another motorised launch will be stationed at the railway Bridge during each race.  These launches will be equipped with radios.  A further boat will be in attendance just beyond the finish line,with another positioned between Polmadie bridge and the sewerage works bend.

 

Towpath Access:  There is a towpath on the North bank of the river over the full length of the course.  Access to the towpath is available as follows: -

 

 

Lifebelts are situated at all road bridges and footbridges along the course of the race and at each clubhouse on the course.

 

A Public Telephone Box is situated in Rutherglen Road adjacent to Glasgow Rowing Club.
